How to prepare for Quantitative Aptitude for CAT 2021

by Pratham Aggarwal 2021-07-19

Quantitative aptitude is one of the most difficult sections of CAT exams. This section measures the candidate’s quantitative ability to solve and understand mathematical equations. This section is a major matter of concern for those candidates who are from a non-engineering background. They are worried about the fact that their fundamentals are not clear and they lack practice as compared to candidates. So, now the question arises, How to ace your quant preparation? First of all, if you believe that you can ace the subject on your own, you are wrong. Quantitative aptitude is a subject that cannot be mastered in a short period of time. The candidate needs to be consistent. It is usually advised that the candidate shall prepare in two parts. The first phase of the preparation should begin with learning the basic concepts, whether it be arithmetic or geometry.

It becomes really very important for a candidate to have clarity over the basic concepts so that the candidate does not face any problems while practicing the difficult questions. It is very important for a CAT aspirant to learn all the formulas by heart. Instead, it is recommended to make a separate notebook for such formulas. In order to ace quantitative aptitude, the candidate shall also focus on time management as this section contains difficult questions that are time-consuming when a candidate solves them.

After all the concepts are clear the student shall begin with the practice and should be consistent. The students shall move to questions with a higher level of difficulty gradually. The students should also learn to analyze the questions for better use of formulas. Also, the candidate should also know the importance of accuracy in CAT exams. Also, there should be no guesswork when it comes to quantitative aptitude as accuracy is important. If a student faces any problem while studying quantitative aptitude, he/she should always seek help from their seniors. The student can also refer to Acadergy’s booster plan for CAT preparation. It is very cheap and worth it. Also, personal doubt clearing is provided which becomes a crucial element of success when it comes to quantitative aptitude.

Albert Einstein once said, “The true sign of intelligence is not knowledge, but imagination.” If a CAT aspirant can think of acing quantitative aptitude, he/she can truly achieve it with their hard work, dedication, and discipline.
Always remember that practice makes the man perfect and when it comes to quantitative aptitude, practice can get you a perfect MBA college that a candidate will cherish.
